Beat the Peavey CL 400? I'd like to hear that! That thing is always going to be my recommendation.

We found one of those Carvin b1500s on Craigslist for $300 so he bought that. Now it looks like I might end up being underpowered, haha. Anyway, thanks for all the info guys!

Sadly, we all drive compact cars. Mine is a Fit at least, which is pretty good at hauling shit. I dunno if I can squeeze an 8x10 in there though.

Just wanted to add, if you look up the SWR SM-400, you'll find threads on TB with people bitching about it putting too much low end out. Wow, seriously!? They must be using pussy cabs then. I've run it through a Kustom 2x15 + SWR 1x18 and also an SWR 1x18 + SWR 4x12. BASS Galore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, Talkbass is full of guys that hate bass tones, its all "sparkle" this and "hi-fi" that they apparently play "treble" rather than "bass"

I posted on there for my bass player and got slammed left and right because they said no one in their right mind would want as much lowend as my bassist was going for.

I mean he plays an eb-0 with flatwounds and an octave down sometimes

The SM-400 is only 400 SS watts, WTF!!! :picard: It is pretty loud, but not Ampeg SVT loud(other than the SM-400, that's the loudest amp I've played through)

I guess TB is all a bunch of slap n pop'n heads or Korn whores. No real low end needed there!

Also, the EQ section on the SM-400 is super fucking awesome. Too much low end? dial it out, dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
