Jeff Daniels is awesome. I maintain that one of the best double features is watching The Crossing after Dumb and Dumber! You just expect him to ride up on the horse and say, "hey Lloyd! Check out this awesome hat I found!!!" He really is a very good actor, not really very acclaimed, though.

He is incredible in Something Wild, Purple Rose of Cairo, and The Squid and the Whale (not necessarily a great movie, but some amazing performances)
