Sorry for your loss man, the departure of beloved family members such as this whether expected or not is never an easy burden to bear, I wish you the best as you mourn.

That sounds like an awesome going away party. He's obviously well loved.

AxAxSxS wrote:So sad to hear, what did your old sig say? something like "this is my dog, he's old and he's mean and he'll probably bite you" Always made me smile. I'll definately pour one out for Pancho Weds night. At least you have a few last days to spoil the crap out of him.
close, it was "that's my dog. he's old, he rules, and he will probably bite you." he's not actually mean. he's a good dog, he just never was one you wanted to trifle with. he was always willing to back up his bark with some bite if needed. and sometimes he made mistakes and bit my friends before he got to know them.
That's easily one of the coolest things I've ever heard. Hell of a way to send him on to the next life.

And I remember your sig from hcfx. I always got a good chuckle out of it as well.

When ol' Pancho was a young dog, circa 2001 or so, the probably bite you would have translated to most likely.
He used to try to bite anyone that went near Parker's records.
He mellowed out a few years later. A good dog and a good friend.
Fuck. I've known him only one week less that I've known Parker.
Sorry, buddy. I'll be knocking back a shot of some of Kentucky's finest for him later.

rest in power little four legged awesome guy.

Our first foster dog was called Pancho and he's awesome. I know I'll be devastated when one of my girls goes. Feeling for you dude.

i just want to say thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts and comments. pancho left this world last wednesday at home in my backyard. i left the next day and went to the desert to get away from things and process it all. it's definitely hard and the world feels a bit emptier without him, but i've had a lot of support and it makes it easier. also, i know that it was his time and that it was the right thing. he was ready to go and there's a bit of peace in knowing that.

I'm sorry I missed this, mate. And I'm sorry you had to see your good friend go. It breaks my heart. I wish you all the best in life.

A few years ago my 16 year old Aussie/Border Collie mix went from running and playing like a pup to slowing down to just having her body fail really quickly. It was so hard to see her body just crumble and the toll it had on her personality. Once she could no longer eat, go to the bathroom or get up on her own I figured it was finally time that she needed to be put down. What was extra hard was that the dog originally belonged to my best friend and she had passed away a few years earlier and Mackenzie (the dog) was my only connection I still felt that I had left to Amanda (my friend). The next day I went to work and Mackenzie was obviously hurting but she was resting and seemed okay but later that day when my then girlfriend woke up, she found Mackenzie had passed away after sleeping on my shoe. Losing a dog is just plain hard, thinking about the good times, the bad times, it doesn't matter, it's just tough.
