Holy moly do want!!!

I have a MuTron Bi-Phase and it's truly incredible but just so goddamn HUGE. It would be so amazing to find a reasonably sized clone that actually captures those thick gorgeous phase tones.

Have a Faye's Her too and while it's cool with a buncha fancy features, it just can't quite get there sonically speaking. It's simply not as full and massive sounding, sorta refined and tame honestly.

I'm really starting to want one of these too. I've spent the last hour or so watching Bi-Phase demos, and I've listened to the samples of the Pi-Phase a bunch of times now too.

I can't really afford one right now, but if I sold my Whetstone and Cosmichorus I'd have enough to cover it... and I think the Pi-Phase would more than cover the sounds I like out of those two, and then some.

If it sounds like those clips then it'll easily best the Whetstone. The CC v3 is pretty incredible/versatile tho...

did anyone buy one of these? I'm still plugging away on my Fay'es Her, also are any of you aware that Mike Biegel the creator of all the Mutron pedals is back in business and re-releasing all the pedals in smaller boxes with upgrades, but is paying particular attention that they sound as good and or better than the originals! this includes the Bi-Pase. at the moment he is working on the new version of the Mutron III.
Unfortunately as he hasen't got a web site he is limited to his Facebook page which is rather chaotic, but if you message him he will put you on the list for the Bi-phase, I'm not sure that work has started yet on that so it may be a long wait, but worth it I'm sure!

I got the piphase a few weeks ago. Its very nice. I also have a whetstone, infinitphase and phaseur fleur to compare with. Obviously, the whetstone is a completely different animal. It is approximately the same size as the polygrace so a little bigger than normal but manageable. It is easy to dial in great sounds. I still need more time with it to give a thorough review. I havent even experimented with the different routing options yet. Mike (the builder) is a total stand-up guy so I wouldnt worry about ordering from him. I know he is moving back to Australia so things may be in flux at the moment.

Have you ever played a Mutron Bi-Phase to compare it to?

I'm waiting for it to be available in Canada at Axe.
But it might take some times.

Can't wait to read your review.

Did you also have a Faye's Her? if so how do these two compare sonically?

The slowest speed is calibrated just like the biphase at a 10 second cycle. However, I understand there is a trimpot inside for adjusting this and it can go much slower. How much...I don't know yet I am going to try this weekend. There is also a trimpot that adjusts the blend of the phased/clean signal that I want to play with.

I have never owned/played any INFANEM pedal so I don't really know. I could never spend that much on a phaser like the Faye's Her. I think Schnikes has/had all these and could give a better firsthand account.

Schnikes? you there, did you get one of these? I know you had a Bi-phase and a Faye's Her, thinking of selling my Faye's Her ahead of the rush!

I just got my Pi-Phase a few days ago and it totally RULES, very happy with it thus far! I haven't spent tons of time with it just yet but I did manage to put it head to head with my OG BiPhase and it comes extremely close sonically speaking. I think the MuTron may sound a touch fatter and warmer with a little deeper phasing but the Pi-Phase is the closest I've ever seen/heard any pedal get to it, so close I probably wouldn't notice the difference without having them both present to A/B. It also has all the same functionality as the original. It'll go way slow and way fast, pretty much the same range as the MuTron and as mentioned above but I know there's internal trim pots that can affect rate range tho haven't messed with anything like that yet.

I've had a boatload of phasers in the past and the Pi-Phase is easily one of the coolest. I sold my Faye's Her within days of it's arrival. The Faye's Her is super cool too and sports more in terms of features and tweakability but it can't replicate that FAT MuTron-style phasing whereas the Pi-Phase is like 95% of the way there. As for enclosure size, it's a little bigger, almost identical to the Faye's Her actually, but it doesn't require any external footswitch (beyond expression) and it's sooooooo much smaller and pedalboard friendly than the original. Only catch is power, requires 16VAC but I have a CIOKS AC10 that powers it wonderfully.

Oh, and both Mike (deisgner) and Kristjan at Prophecysound Systems are great guys to deal with. I communicated with Mike almost exclusively and he happily answered, in great detail, any and all questions I had, kept me updated throughout the build, and got the pedal to me a week faster than promised. He also spent a buncha time tweaking it to exacting standards and specs to ensure it sounds as awesome as it does. Good guys, I'd highly recommend them and their creations to anyone interested. :thumb:

Here's a quick pic to give you an idea of size compared to the MuTron:
