We drink a lot of coffee, probably around 10 full pots a week.

We had a Hamilton Beach model that we bought because it was one of the few cheap ones that heated the water properly. It lasted over three years before it needed replacement. We went with the same brand, and have had great results with it.

This is the one we got: http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/10-12-cup- ... 46201.html

It's really nice. It is programmable, has 3 heat settings, 3 brew settings. Check out the reviews. They're mostly positive.

I've done the Cuisinart Grind and Brew. Seems like a good idea and makes a decent cup but it's a pain in the ass to clean because you have to clean the grinder bits every time. Seriously, because the grind residue gets gunked up with steam. Other temperamental stuff often goes on with those, too, but the thermal carafe is better than glass on a heater.

I do French press, grind the beans while boiling the coffee. Easy to brew and clean, great coffee. If you mind some sludge, though, you have to get a burr grinder that will do a good coarse grind or move on to something else.

I never drink drip at home these days, but my parents have had a Cuisinart DCC-1200 for years now. They never have a problem with it either. Brews a pretty good cup, automatic timer for mornings, and keeps it warm for a while.
It isn't cheap or anything, but it definitely lasts long enough that I wouldn't think twice about it.

That said, I don't think it is any hassle to do a french press. After a couple weeks I got it to be more efficient than a drip and a better tasting cup. But I guess it isn't for everyone.

What are you looking for? Get a coffee grinder and grind the beans for about 6 seconds and see how it looks. If it looks a bit coarser than pre-ground coffee you're good.

When I have time, I like to make it the way my mom used to before she got too Americanized. Here's an easy video to learn how.

Café bustelo is dirt cheap, too. Drinking poor latino coffee is also quite the hipster victory. I normally drink my coffee black but with bustelo its so dark that some boiled milk and sugar makes it REEEAAAALLLLLLLY FUCKING GOOD. Seriously, you taste the sweetness and creaminess but it's still POW some strong coffee.

No you don't

The sludge is the best part of French Press.

If you don't have time,...just get one of them lame ass Kuerigs.

I'm just flipping you shit. To each his own.

I used to be the drink maxwell house and put it in a travel mug and drink it on the way to work/first part of the work day. My lifestyle has changed. I wake up pretty early prior to having to go at work; usually about an hour to an hour and a half (I just changed my schedule so I work 8 to 5). So with that comes a morning ritual that I really enjoy.

Coffee is the main portion of that morning. French Press.

I personally feel like coffee isn't meant to be rushed. It's about slowing down a little before you have to be constantly in 3rd gear.

If you are opened minded to a french press and changing up your routine a little but still wanna quicken it up a bit,...consider investing in an electric kettle. Fuckers work quicker than stovetop and can shorten the time it takes to french press to about the time it takes to brew coffee in a drip machine.

Whats a good grinder out there? Not too expensive, but one that will last as well.

I'm really digging the press I have right now. Its just one that my parents had, but damn it makes a pretty good cup of coffee (especially with kaluha or brandy in it). But I haven't done freshly ground coffee quite yet since I don't have a grinder. My roommates have an electric one that they used already for other things, so I'm not so sure I can use that one anymore.
