Behnders, you know that hip hop/black fetishization they have in like, Roppongi?
Take that, put it in a country that actually has black people to like, interact with.
Boosh, your fetish is now a rather large, marketable subculture.

you want to hear something really horrible, try Dutch rap. when i was over there in 06 i was watching the Dutch version of MTV, and there was a particularly scurrilous song called "Moroccanse Misjes" which was all about plonking Muslim grrrrls. rapping in the thick, guttural A'dam accent is something to behold, if not to actually understand.

lol. i'm not talking poo about French hip hop (or Frechie Whatevah Genre) in general, because i'm mad ignorant about Real Music over there. MC Solar was French right? i kinda dug his stuff. but i was going through a mellow ambient hip hop beat influenced phase. just... just the soundtrack stuff. oof. OOF. SO BAD.

JayJay BirdBird - my grrL's got a huge Francophile thing going on, she loves out there and tried to learn the language some (third language with a Japanese accent French is.... um. interesting.). i've only been in Paris for like 4 days when we were on our way to spend a few weeks in Italy. i remember liking the museums we hit, digging the people and having some fun conversations, fucking hating the boring and over priced food. crepes were good, but like $20. best thing i could find for savory stuff was an Italian dooder selling panins from a cart on the street.

KittehTwoTimes - HAH. knew as soon as i posted that you'd get all wiggly in your britches. I'M ON YOUR LAWN. I AIN'T GETTING OFF IT. DEAL WITH IT.

Sailor Cutie - URG. i'm so pissed off with Japan and black folks right now. watching Vampire GrrL vs Frankenstein GrrL at work and it's got these horribly racist black face caricatures with the Kogaru clique they're making fun of. like, shit Al Jolson would have been embarrassed by.

Most importantly, did you enjoy eating baguette (one made by an artisan boulanger that is) and wearing a beret while sitting on a public bench in Saint-Germain-Des-Près listening to Georges Brassens ?

I've been to Paris like twice. I mostly remember feeling suffocating in the tube  I'm planning to go there to visit someday though. Last time I went, I walked from Place Colette (which is right behind the Tuilleries and the Louvres) to Place de la République, then to Place de la Bastille and made a quick stop on the Canal Saint-Martin. I'm passionate about history, so standing in front of the Comédie Française, the Colonne de Juillet or having a drink at the Café de la République were a few nice moments. I wanted to go to see the Place de La Concorde also, because that's were we beheaded Louis XVI during the Revolution

I've been to Roma, Florence in Italy and Saarbrücken also in Germany. The food was nice, maybe a lot closer to what I'm used than you are ? I felt a lot easier with the people in Germany. I guess it's only a foolish impression 'cause I can fluently understand German and decently speak it while I have rather poor notions of Italian and was constantly trying to see if what the were saying could vaguely relate to something French... I also didn't know how to ask them to speak slower which didn't help. They reminded me of my mother mostly, she's from south of France and kinda has a hard time speaking slowly as well

Nah, our food is nice. Just depends on who's cooking it and where you're eating also. Crêpes (the sugary kind, like thin pancakes) and galettes (the brownish salty kind) are super fun and easy to make if you can get the right ingredients and you can put virtually anything in there. Some specialties I can think of you could enjoy would be red meat with roquefort sauce, confit de canard, magret de canard or bouillabaisse if you like fish, ratatouille... Everything Provençal really :idk: We also know of thousands of ways to make potatoes and all kind of tartes

Edit : French cuisine is very diverse really, it all depends on where you are. In Nantes, typical local cuisine would be a pork roast baked in salt with salicornes served with a potatoes from Noirmoutier, which are cultivated in land that is immersed by the sea a few weeks a year. They have a very sweet yet salty taste. I don't know cuisine from the North or the East of France that well, but one would be closer to Belgian cuisine and the other to German food.

Also, a proper sandwich made with baguette... No actually if I had to be a French stereotype, I'd have various cheese with baguette or pain de campagne, a bit of salad with vinaigrette... Really, that's where it's at.

This French guy I used to work with would bring a baguette, cheese, and wine for lunch every day.
And of course, he had his Swiss Army Knife to cut/open it all.

I'm afraid this wouldn't be sanitary as well as in compliance with regulations.

Once you go French, you can never go back  The occasional burger and all, that's classified. No one can know.
