the longest i ever stayed up was about fifty-two hours; my longest sleepless periods were totally non drug-induced. i was hella hyperactive when i was a kid, and didn't have any problem staying awake all night long when i was hanging with friends. i never go without sleep for more than 24 hours now. the hyperactivity has gone, but the ADD is still here.

i've never been able to spend more than one day on stimulant drugs, because i got so burned out in the typical 12 or 14 hours that i'd sleep for a day and a half. i think my hyperactivity made it impossible for me to spend days on stimulants because they had some of the paradoxical effect of stimulant ADD medication.

if i do fall asleep, i sleep like a brick, especially now that i'm taking risperdal at night.

4 days. Long story involving High School graduation, summer romance and long distance relationships. Then I discovered Benadryl. Given the alternatives of perscription sleep medication, sleep deprivation induced psychosis or copious amounts of depressants, I think I made the right choice

weeks

6 days, when some friends of mine died in a car crash sophomore year of high school. Still have issues with insomnia from time to time.

oh, that's rough. was that the whole time period of their funerals and all?

A couple days after the third funeral I was finally able to pass out, can't say I've ever been the same since that year.

yeah, some things hit you so hard that nothing is ever the same again.

i usd to be able to do 1 hour a night
for weeks at a time with the right drugs
but that to me isnt insomnia
insomnia is right now
i wanna sleep
but im almost afraid too
at leas once a week now i skip a night
i did two nights last week
and ended up in the hospital
im not the young buck i used to be

finally got some sleep around 1 am tues morn, ill do the math later

i'm still up and it's 1:45AM...i'd been falling asleep earlier because of the much-mentioned-today new medication, but i tried not taking the customary Klonopin with the rest of my meds and thus i'm nowhere near asleep.

I used to be a big druggy. I was addicted to 'everything at once. (Though mainly high daily dose of morphine and the chronic)' Finally I cold turkeed and wen't slightly manic. I didn't sleep for 6 months except for a half an hour a night. It was a time of heightened mind and sensations and lurid and mystical craziness. I started hanging out with a Buddhist preacher and drunk. Learned alot, also eventually didn't give a shit. It was seriously rough. I had like to have been insained.

Never had an insomnia problem. I fuckin' love sleep too much. I wanna take a nap right now!

Having a child has definitely made it so I can't sleep whenever I want anymore. It's cool, though. Having a son is well worth the sleep deprivation....
