I was a sprinter in high school and still enjoy running regularly. Mostly doing cycling these days for the sake of my knees. I'm also way overly competitive so I love playing football and basketball in free time. I've made it my goal to get my vertical back and dunk by the end of the summer. So far I've mustered a few very thrilling rejections by the front of the rim but I'm getting there.

I play disc golf in the summer sometimes, but not so much this season (so far). Seem to lost my cares for it. I used to love going skiing (snow blades CUZ I'M COOL LIKE THAT), but it sucks growing up and paying the overpriced lift tickets myself, especially when the one decently close mountain here is not that great :grumpy:

On the real; I heart Archery. Still need to get back on that horse though. I really like the idea of 3D archery; which is sorta like Disc Golf, but with archery.

Ugh, this. I played sports in all the way up through junior high and high school. One day I realized that every single one of my teammates were awful people who bullied everyone else (and I was the target of a fair amount of ostracism myself, because I had long grunge hair and was mostly friends with the theatre and band geeks, and I tried to defend them whenever someone was giving them shit). I quit all of the sports junior year.

I played sport when I was in elementary school and that's it. I've hated them ever since. I can't even stand to watch sports. My sport of choice has always been MMA, video games and playing the bass. Now I'm kind of the power lifting type, but still love those things.

It was always interesting because jocks would try and fuck with me when I was a freshmen, especially the guys on the football team. What they didn't expect was that my uncle is a Bushido khan instructor and I've been around it my whole life. So one day one of these jock fucks was messing with me in PE while we were walking up the stairs to go to the weight room. I back kicked his ass half way down the stairs. lol Fucking idiots. The jocks left me alone the rest of my high school experience.

That sounds awesome. For a second, though, I replaced Disc Golf with Ultimate in my head. That game sounded incredibly intriguing.

I had a similar experience in high school, although I never actually played school sports.
I was a rare breed that played sports, played guitar and bass, had long ass hippie hair, only wore band tshirts and jeans, smoked a fair bit of stuff, and was getting 90s in advanced placement classes. Literally experienced the bullying thing from all sides. Luckily my school was small (less than 1200) so there wasn't too much of it but I still stood up to it when I could. Honestly, most of the bullying happened between the girls and there was no way in hell I was getting mixed into that shit.

Back to original question: I longboard and snowboard. I've also been looking into getting back into hockey and softball.

Also sick tattoo.

i play a lot of disc golf. i'm pretty decent and usually shoot a few shots above or below par in tournament or league play. it's a pretty chill sport that musicians seem to gravitate towards.

I skateboarded for almost 20 years, and have the knees to prove it.

i watch football basically just to bond with my dad, and i've always liked basketball.

I'm sorry to hear that. Adolescents can be so cruel.

I work with high school athletics as an athletic trainer and I put the hammer down on any athlete who's bullying their peers. Fortunately, it doesn't happen so often at the school where I work and when I was in high school wasn't very much of an issue, but I know it happened/happens, and it's all too common everywhere. It's upsetting how frequently it happens and how much of an effect it has on young people's lives. There's a lot at work there, parents, teachers, coaches, administrators not taking enough initiative to prevent it... and of course, the insecurities the teens have that foster those urges to keep others down, and the emotions being bullied causes.
