There should've been fewer Coen brothers films and more older films (I think he shouldve included more older films).
My top three in no particular order:
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: this HAD to have been intended as a comedy
Arsenic and Old Lace: Carey Grant is my hero. If I could be him, I would.
Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure: why so few people love this movie is a huge mystery to me.

pee wee's in the list i'm working on. part of the work is how i need to watch some of the oldie's i've never seen. if i can. i have a terrible time being terribly bored with old movies...

Yeah, I have a lot of trouble with older comedies too. But if you find the right ones they are brilliant! Here're a few that I think are pretty awesome: Some Like it Hot (I really liked that this was on his list), Charade (more comedy/thriller), The General, The Trouble with Harry, Harvey. I really need to watch some Charlie Chaplin and Marx Brothers movies...

harvey - the one about the giant rabbit? if so my mom just recently directed a performance of that play, i did sound for it. totally a fun / funny story.
you just added more i'll have to look up though, charade, the general & trouble w/ harry.
