Will it work with a tv? For some reason i understood that trad gaming pcs were no so good with a big giant tv.
They make PCs smaller than a book now, modern PCs work great - provided you set it up.

I'm guessing Sony, unless Nintendo pulls an amazing coup. From everything I can tell, they really bungled the Wii U release...it's the console
I'd get, but they focused on the new handheld controller so much at first that people just thought it was a new controller for the Wii. Now they're running (lame, corny...desperate?) ads with socially retarded kids and their parents "discovering" that the Wii U is a "totally new system!" So now they're trying to point out that it's new/different, but they're making it seem like a child's toy or family toy...which it can be, but they need to cast their nets a bit wider than that. If they hit hardcore gamers too, and show off some awesome upcoming titles at E3 (along with a price drop), maybe they have a chance. But I think it's too late. Bummer, cause I like Nintendo.
It also seems like the Wii U takes all of the movement/innovation out of the Wii and just turns it into another sit around console. I know that Xbox now has kinect and PS3 jumped on the bandwagon too, but I feel like having a tablet was just a lame solution to bringing something new to the table.
Although I didn't watch it super closely, people forgave the wii for not having the best graphics because people we getting up and doing something different- MOVING.
I dunno. It just doesn't seem like the new Xbox warrants selling my old one for, nor does my old wii for the new wii.

I have a wii u and the novelty has worn off for me.
Maybe because I have been more interested in other things. Who knows at this point. If I could sell it and buy more gear with the money I would. But the wife likes to use it for the netflix.

I run my pc into the tv on a regular basis, works fine. No idea where the idea that it wont work/look right comes from, maybe from having shitty graphics cards? or not knowing how to set resolution? no idea, but I hear it most often from non pc-users.
A category you obviously don't fall into

I think it's probably etched into the subconscious of most people who grew up in the 90's, because hooking a computer to a tv was not something ordinary mortals could do.
Clearly that's not the case now, or for anyone who knows what they're doing.
When I was in middle school, teachers would spend like half the class period struggling to connect a computer to one of those big old tv's on a wheely cart, and it involved a some weird-looking cables.

I mean....i have a pc connected to a tv. Its a laptop that the screen broke off of so now i use it to watch MKV files on big screen (if anyone knows a better device let me know). It was a bitch to get it to display properly and it even has an hdmi port.

fuuuuuuuuck. i wasn't super excited about the PS3 or the Xbox Whatevah anyways since launch titles always suck goat buttholes. but always on.... no good. no thank you. PS3's not going to be backwards compatible either though.
i have a WiiU..... i've played the Mario game some but that's it. but that's not really a fair assessment. i haven't really been gaming much at all lately damnit.

+1
I have been thinking a lot about this. Men my age (I am 31) grew up right on the beginning of the console and close to the death of the arcade. I became addicted to gaming the year Super Nintendo came out. I frothed at the mouth for the next great game and shelled out big money the newest system. At this point in my life I could say that I have paid 20k for the numerous amounts of games, accessories, computers and everything else to feed me the next great game.
I was so turned off by the XBOX launch today because I felt after all of my years of supporting the manufactures and publishers they throw it back in my face saying they want even more. At this point I keep on asking myself "for what? whats the point?" I see nothing of value in the XBOX or any other game system for that matter other than to take more of your money for things that have no physical forum. Then I got all sad that I did not spend those countless hours doing something worth my time but I can't redo anything so I have to take it for what it is.
Point is that I think I am done with physical gaming consoles. I may get a Nintendo so I on the occasion where I get the bug to play a game I can but what is the point when after a couple of years its going to be a useless pile of electronics. Playstation 2 was amazing because you could play all of the other games you had and paid hundreds of dollars for and the new stuff that came out.

As nit picky as it is, why the hell isn't this Xbox just called the 720?
Also, for PC stuff I just stick with teksyndicate.com. It's less bandwagony and more rounded in terms of community and recommendations. They listen to shitty music though.

Welp, looks like I won't be getting an Xbox One. Always on internet is the way to lose me on a console. The Wii U is looking nicer and nicer every day.

Hurry up and launch, PS4.
I need to buy a soon-to-be-old PS3 so I can finally play Valkyria Chronicles.
