If it sounds like it may actually be broken (and it's not just buyer's remorse) then you've been sold a faulty piece of equipment. Initiate a PayPal claim.

i started a paypal claim. thing is, it's not broken. it's just a really shitty design. i sent him an audio clip of the carrier signal shitting all over everything ever and he sent back, "yeah, that's how carrier signals work blah blah blah" and lectured me on how pedals do what the DO.
we'll seeeeeeeeeee.

behndy wrote:it's a sample rate reducer. thing it does that's awful is the carrier signal is LOUD. like, as loud as what's played through it. even when not playing.
so when it's clicked on there's always a super loud feedbacking whine.
that...... y'know.... is tuneable with the resolution knob.... so.... that's.... good?
thing is completely useless.
Uh oh, is it the Luck Duck 8 bit duck
That's a bummer dude, I was starting to like that dude but this changes stuff.

Lol, those sample rate reducers. The designs that are easy to find on the internet and copy aren't the ones that do anything really to kill the whine.

Interesting, the demo that vidret posted definitely kills the carrier when you aren't playing, so it sounds broken to me. I would insist that it's broken, and then Paypal will have to side with you.

yeah, it's not the first time i've come across a pedal that is quiet in online demos but is as noisy as the singing dunes when you get it home.

lol. you sneaky BASTARDS. yeah. that video he's playing continuously, so it's subtle but he's masking the carrier bleed of HELL. i pointed to that and his only response was "i don't edit my videos".
it IS Luck Duck, his response was to offer me a refund minus 30 percent. fuuuuuuuck THAT. i'm going to insist that it's broken or not as advertised with PayPal and try to get all my money back. i'd rather risk getting burned for the $100 he wants to give me back and be able to talk about how truly awful this thing is.
probably going to do a demo vid of it showing how crap it is.
iiiiiii.... would NOT recommend buying from this guy. his pedal is horrible and he doesn't seem to care about making someone happy that gave him money for it.

A refund minus 30 percent is a joke. You stand behind your shit or you don't.
And this is how builders fuck themselves on the internet.

If I was going through a similar experience such as behndy's, I'd rather not have people leaving childish comments on their Facebook page. Doesn't really help or add any legitimacy to the situation.

yeah. i mentioned how he faded the volume to mask it, he denied it. doucher.
JAYMIE. I LURV YOU. YOU'RE AN UNRESTRAINED STALLION. RIDE FREE YOU BEAUTIFULLY MANED BEAST.
Cassas - naw. i wouldn't post stuff like that, but Jaymz DOES have a point. doesn't reflect back on me.
Soni - Squarepusher Wannabe FOR LIFE YO.
The Daltz - ugh. i know right? how are you going to try to be a small builder in a crowded market and not only sell a crappy, half-finished pedal, but then blow people off? i had never heard of them before, and i'm gonna do my best to hopefully have it out there so peoples have a headsup on how he handles things.
