Thanks!

I wired everything up and assembled it, discovered that the nut is shot so I'll be making one out of brass. I have just enough left over from my 12 string build a while back. It does make some crazy loud noises when plugged in. :thumb: should be awesome if I can work out the bugs.

nut made and installed. Kinda rough but it works. Played it a bit and I fucking love it. this is a keeper. I'll try to take a beauty shot tomorrow to show off the finished build.

Why does it look like the high E string is coming unwound?

the octave strings are reversed so that the ball end anchors in the headstock. Thats where the wire wraps around to attach to the end. tuners for the octave strings are at the "wrong" end of the bass.

Oh, right. So, it's not unwinding, it's just the wraps at the base of the string?

Final things are done, adjusted action, intonation and played the hell out of it for a couple hours today. I'm really liking it. pickups in it are awesome and the coil tapping and volume/tone controls are all useful and can get some great tones. I'm pretty happy with it. My only regrets are that I didn't get rid of some of the dents and stuff that were left over from the previous owner. Here is the final project.
I apoligize in advance for the crappy cell phone pic :hello:
