there are workarounds to the whole posts not going out to everyone thing. If you create an "interest list" and put everyone that you want to get every post from on it, FB won't limit what you see from them. Still lame and still going down hill. It's a shame, it could remain relevant and useful but they seem to be hell bent on squeezing evey pennie they can out of it which will destroy it in the long run.

Whoa. Deja vu. I complained about this at least once, if not twice. There were quite a few messages I really would've like to have gotten in that "other" folder. But I didn't read them until months later. Then I ed and reminded myself that facebook is a free service that no one is in any way obliged to use. So I find it hilarious every time people get really upset when things like (this is the new one) the CIA or whatever decide to monitor all activity. Anyone posting shit that the CIA would care about obviously deserves to be caught. My two cents.
For all the shit people heap on Facebook, I have to admit that it's been a net positive for me. It's helped me reconnect with people I never would have talked to ever again, and it lets me maintain a polite (but also ignorable) amount of contact with people that I really don't want to interact with much, but whom I can't tell to get away from me forever. And it lets me get away without actually having to see most of my extended family in person, I can just chat with them instead. Which is a good thing.
