Whaha, what you say actually puzzles me because usually envelope triggering is meant to wiggle certain parameters around without you having to turn knobs and shit, you got me all puzzlywuzzly now. :?:

the Hexe is sechsy.... but it's like $500 i think? maybe $400. but still too much for a gimmicky one sound.

You're thinking of a filter that responds to the envelope of the signal. This just has a threshold where it activates and below the threshold you dont get any effect. It makes a big differences to tweak that threshold control while you are processing audio to change the response.

It will do interesting things if you just play through it in one setting but that would be using 5% of the capabilities of the pedal. You really want to be turning multiple controls at once to get the full spread of sounds.

Ah, I understand, it might be nice if you could turn off this threshold function then or control it with an expression pedal or something (maybe put an option knob on it), but it makes sense there's more in the pedal tweaking the knobs on the fly than if you just play through it (I would probably put it after my Timeline to freak out on oscillations or loops and that kind of stuff). :)

You're probably right, I don't know, I'm in the EU so on this one I got a bit of an advantage maybe but it's still not cheap.
I don't know how much of a one trick pony it is though, if you set the loop length to max you assumably can get freeze type of sounds and as you move the expression pedal you can shorten the loop length to get more glitchy stuff.
Splatt (I guess he's David Torn) posted some amazing clips over at TGP, just found them looking with a search engine for the Hexe Revolver II.
If I'm not mistaken you have a Particle, how much of the Revolver II stuff can it do?

it's a bit different. i've only played with friends's Revolvers and watched them use 'em. i don't mean "one trick" in a negative way really. i just mean that it seems like something that would be so outstanding it might be better suited for one or two times than a Use Almost All The Time effect?

the Particle is ridiculously awesome. but it doesna do the stuttery resample thing the Revolver does.

Ah (hattrick, third in a row), in that sense, yeah, it also depends what kind of music one makes I guess.
One can control the volume so one could also use the pedal to add layers underneath stuff one's playing for instance.
Anyway, there's some cool clips out there if one runs a search for it.
Playing with your friends Revolvers, that does sound kinda scary to me, things might get dirty...

I'm kinda Lost but 'you' was meant as 'one', so maybe with the edit it's more clear what I meant? (eurothrash here, not writing my own language) :idk:
