Iphone doesn't let you use MP3 files for rings tones, only AAC. This is highly irritating to me since all of my music is MP3. "Apple is better" they told me...

yah. it's a pain but it's doable.
the thing for me was, i never heard anything but the abrasive og ringtones. like, music/audio chunks would just blend into the background.

okay i dont know if you got it already buuuuut
Pick the song you want
Right click -> Get Info -> Options
Use the start time/stop time window things to set what part of the song you want for the r-tone, dawg. Then save/exit/close/whatever its called
Right click -> create AAC version (if you don't see it, i think there is a way to get it through Preferences
Copy the NEW AAC version to the desktop
Rename it from "song.m4a" to "song.m4r"
Drag it back to itunes
sync dat shiz

Doesn't work. No AAC option when I right click with new iTunes.

Your importing options have to be set up with the AAC encoder selected instead of MP3.

That is, on pc's, edit > preferences > general > import settings > then choose the AAC option
