I honestly don't know what to expect from this. Star wars has been huge for me for a long time, and I couldn't bear if they did something to kill that which I love. Lucas has done a lot to hurt Star Wars, but This could really do something terrible. It could be awesome, though.

One thing I could totally get down with, an entire Star Wars area at a Disney park. I would behave like a proper 10 year-old and get my crap down to that place immediately. I'm a whore for some things, and I've come to peace with that.

Also, I'm genuinely confused what the story of 7 and any sequential movies will be. The literature has time around the other movies pretty much locked down. Novel adaptation?

Lucas did rough treatments for 7 8 and 9.

Maybe the new screenwriters will actually be able to write dialogue?

Pretty much every second of the established characters lives are written down in novels by now. Disregard Star Wars canon? Make new characters? Completely different time period?

So when is the Hana Montana > Jar Jar binks sex tape going to be aired on the Disney Channel then?

Who gives a fuck? :thumb:

There are the three movies, and then a bazillion other marketing offshoots that involve books, video games, animated films, midgets, and balloons (and three other movies). That's not what I would call a canon.

eh.... I'm ok with everyone else enjoying it as they want to, but the established canon is important to me.
I like a lot of those books and video games. I'm a nerd. I'll admit I've got it bad. Will it ruin my life if they
do things I don't like? No. I'll be pretty sad, though.

The midgets are my favorite, though.
Canon Midgets are the future.

fuck Lucas. he took way too much credit. Kasdan and Brackett i think? they wrote Empire, the best of the bunch. i knew the new trilogy was going to be a corpse fucking shit pile when they had some vid of some animators showing Lucas the redone part in New Hope where Solo steps on Jabba's tail, his eyes bulge..... the animator kind of cringed and looked at Lucas, TOTALLY expecting him to call him on that lame ass bullshit....... and Lucas laughed his ass off and said how awesome it was.

fuck Star Wars. everything i liked about it has been butchered and raped for money then rewritten by some truly horrible films.

....... only thing that gives me a tad bit of interest is that Disney owns Marvel, and they let them make the perfect super hero movie in The Avengers.

Someone just needs to bring Timothy Zahn in and make the Thrawn trilogy into movies. I'm usually not big into the "expanded universe" shit, but that was an amazing story arc, and would make a fantastic series. Plus, who would play Mara Jade? Charlize Theron?

I really don't give a fuck anymore. I've got my original trilogy theatrical versions on DVD, and that's all I need.

Harrison Ford also does good things in Apocalypse Now, and he plays The Scariest Man ever in The Conversation.

Fa sho on the fuck Lucas stuff. Star Wars used to have an argument at being better than Star Trek....then episodes 1, 2, and 3 came out.

In other news, though. Not sure if this is true, but IF this IS the actual script, I'm happy:

The thing I care about most in continuity with the story line. I can't stand these fucking shitty ass reboots or parallel universes. I already loved the old stuff, now feed me more stories with new characters and adventures. Don't try to do a recreation of the characters I already know. :oldrant:
