people around here are freaking out
over the last 5 years we have had 2 major floods
last year when it flooded they threw a ton of people in the school bus garage with no food or supplies for about 9 hours because the national guard couldn't get them out
we were able to get together enough food to feed them until they could be moved to a local college
it was a mess
not at all stoked about friggen sandy

i'm worried, and i'm in Chicago. seriously, folks, be ready and be careful. take care of each other...you may be stuck for some time without aid from first responders due to flooding, road closures/damage, fallen trees/wires/etc. This is when community comes into play.

I have enough lights, food, kerosene, and water to wait it out for a few days and am ready to take in some neighbors if I need to. The Car is gassed we filled empty gaps in the freezer with bags of water, it's go time!
