maybe it has changed, and the gap is closer now, but apple used to have a big leg up on the creative apps. like music making, photography/design, video shit, etc etc.
...atleast thats where the difference is for me.

i dont have an iphone or a smartphone for that matter, but i rock them purrrty apps all day on my ipod touch.

but yea, in general, u are always going to pay more for less w/ apple
(sometimes less is more, but not all the time)

I think your last statement is true only if you're looking at hardware specs. The app environment, iOS and ease of use/compatibility with all Apple products are, at least to me, the biggest selling points. Non-apple phones are starting to catch up in the looks/deisgn department (especially the Nokia 800/900), but I think the iPhone is still in the lead there.

^ yea def talking hardware specs, and more about computers than phones.

like u can get a top of the line PC (w/ better specs than an apple), for like half the price of a mac.

i agree w/ u 100% (i also own 2 macs myself, so i'm not bashing, i very much like their products. the simplicity/ease of use/overall nature of running good and no porn viruses!! are all head to toe better than any PC experience i've had) like i said sometimes less is more, really depends on your situation.
when i fire up my mac from the power off, its on and ready to run in like 10 seconds....my pc used to take like 10 minutes.

ummmmmmmmmm.....

1. Order iPhones from US
2. Sell in Australia
3. ????
4. Profit.

3 is probably buy hookers.

or coke.

or a Tasmanian Devil without facial tumors.

But yeah, from the looks of it, the iphone 5 is basically spec'd to compete with the Samsung, not actually "beat" it. Because then what would they do for the next iPhone release 4 months from now?

ANNOUNCING THE DEATH OF IPHONE 4.
Srsly. Anyone remember when 4 came out? I do. They had 3's for $99. Then iOS4 came out, which RUINED the iphone 3. But then you're in an ipone contract. Then you get an iphone that works. So on and so forth.

Goddamn it, I still thought I had an up to date phone. I've had this 4 for two years now. Well, I mean, fuck upgrading though.

You can keep your unlimited data plan on AT&T (which I have), but not on Verizon. They're trying to make me give up my $5/200 texts/month plan and only giving me the option of an unlimited texting plan for 20/month or pay as you go. I don't really text that much, so I'm trying to figure that one out. Maybe I'll stop by a store and someone can help me out..

I can't say I'm blown away by the iPhone 5. It's nice, thin, looks good, etc. But the improvements aren't big enough to have me freaking out that my upgrade isn't for another few months. I'll probably get one then once the initial launch stuff is over with. :idk:

I am excited for iOS 6 though. Looks like some nice overall improvements.

As for the whole thing with other phones, I like that there are more options. It makes for cheaper plans and pushes technology forward. I love Apple products because they work the way I want them to, and all my devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone) stay in sync. The fact that I don't have to enter in info on three different devices and can get all of my stuff on each device whenever I want makes it totally worth it.

This, actually. I had an unlimited data plan on my Verizon iPhone 4, then 4S. I was paying out the ass to keep it. I bit the bullet and switched to the new plans, and shaved like $60 off my bill. On top of that, I now get free mobile hotspot, which I've actually used quite a bit with my iPad. If I move back to a MacBook Pro I imagine I'll use it even more.

And still, I've only used 200MB of data this month.
