And that is the angle from above looking down on it. There is about a 5-10 degree bend in both E strings from the tailpiece to the saddle before going parallel to the other strings from the saddle to the nut. It's ONLY the E strings, the others A-D-G-B are totally parallel.
strange on the angle thing! should be like this....

Ah I was talking about the strings sitting on the saddle. The stock JM bridge and Mustang bridge sit straight, but I suppose I'd have to angle it if I went AOM

the angle is in the way the strings are sitting on the bridge, sorry for that miscommunication

I think I'll take some pictures tonight to show what I'm talking about. For now, I'll leave you with this diagram:

Did it have that same break with the original Jazzmaster bridge?
If not, I'd try filing the Mustang saddles and putting them on the Jazz bridge.
Quick, easy, no cost. If it doesn't work you're not out anything but time.
Pro tip: Sometimes you can use an old string as a file...Rambo Knife cable saw style.

Nah, I don't think so. All of the strings were sitting perfectly straight on the other bridge, just not very well when strummed

Im going to take some pictures tonight of what is going on with the Mustang bridge. I'll first take a picture of the bridge with the strings all on as they should be, and the angle created on the E strings. Then I will take a picture of both E strings popped out of their saddles for reference.
Hopefully I'll just be able to file down the Mustang saddles and throw them into the Jazzmaster bridge. If not, I guess it's a Mastery... I just sent off a lengthy email to Mastery with my concerns about finding a bridge for the Jazzmaster. I'm going to see what he says about thier bridges with a baritone. I REALLY just don't want to drop that kind of money if I dont have to

With the Warmoth bridge I could adjust the radius to match the 9.5" of the neck instead of the vintage 7.25" that the CIJ Mustang bridge is out now. But i'm still not sure if that would fix the angle of the E strings.
I could always angle the bridge saddles inwards to bring that angle down. Pictures soon

i don't know that it would help your popping out issue. Either the break angle has to be greater or you have to deepen the slots.

Yeah. Well, I'm hoping that pictures will be able to clear it up for everyone and get a solid answer. Plus it'll be a nice excuse to break out my DSLR for the first time in a few months instead of my camera phone haha

Fuck it. Just squared away some funds and I'll be selling the stock VM bridge and CIJ bridge and I'll be getting a Mastery. If they can survive Thurston and .16's, I suppose they can survive me.

So this is how it sits resting:

And this is after about 10 minutes (sorry its blurry, I just realized it):

It is JUST the E strings.
Don't have as much money as I thought. Ended up buying and paying the difference on a 1x12 that I'm actually taking back to the music store tomorrow. Can't handle my amps. MIGHT be able to swing the bridge after my paycheck Thursday

that looks totally fine/normal for a JM
I say, shim the neck, bring the bridge up and increase your break angle. It will take you 15 minutes, tops.
