This is exactly what I need, pretty sure I'll be pledging $500 and see if Nick at Dunwhich could build me a cool power amp. I wonder if you can preorder a rack version.

Me and Nick have somewhat chatted about this all ready, he can def build you the power amp you seek. I was thinking of picking up one of these since he was all ready going to be building me a slave amp. But instead i'm opting to have him build me a Bass Wizard with a slave in and DI out with some repurposed iron I have lying around. Then i can run a stereo bass rig, Orange AD200B for clean tones and the Bass Wizard for Dirt, 440 combined watts of tubey goodness FTW.

 Not that I need that much at the moment  , but one day I will have the band to use it in. Would those amps powering 4 fridges with 2 of them converted to 2x18's be overkill? :duck:

i certainly can build power amps but they wont be so much cheaper than full amps because a majority of the price is in transformers not in the small parts that make up the preamp. I think somewhere from 100-200 dollars drop in price over the general cost is something that "could" happen but you would first have to have a full quote on a full amp then deduct the preamp from it to see exactly how much u would save

and its always nice to connect who is emailing you with who is who on forums. Makes more sense in my head ha

Me too actually, I'd much rather have a full blown Meatsmoke than a facsimile.
Albeit a good one.
I could never justify that kind of coin on a "pedal".
