I HATE micro transactions, let alone a game based off of them. I just started playing on a Niller WoW private server. Molten Core and BWL anyone? haha it has well over 2,000 daily players and increased leveling speed. Oh yea and free, perfect for my life right now.

Yeah, it's basically an in-game ebay. Because Blizzard noticed that people were selling items for ridiculous amounts of money on actual ebay.

The older games were centered on finding items and allotting skills.
They cut the skill part out, so now it's just about finding items.
The always online requirement forces the temptation to buy and sell in the auction house on all players.
=go fuck yourself Blizzard.

I'm being bought the game in exchange for giving a friend a fitness assessment so I'll take a look at it :) Not keen on the auctiony real money stuff so I think I'll stay away from that, see how it compares to D2 and report back.

Feenix indeed!

Looking forward to the 100% Blizzlike server, Emerald Dream iirc hopefully there will be a solid population, since Warsong seems to be a bit geared up already lol

If you don't wish to be any part of the real money AH you don't have to, there's a separate auction house that is restricted strictly to in-game currency, so it's a good way to make the inevitable hours of time invested worth your while should your desired items not drop through the RNG. D3 seems like a pretty good game so far,
I've completed it on Normal and am working on Nightmare and having a great time. The multiplayer element has been made far more seamless as compared to D2 as well.

I.e. BUY THIS SHIT.

I liked this game so far, I can't really say I am going to be too heavily invested in it in the future but I think that I will play it at least thought the next difficulty.

So far what I have liked the most is the story line, for the 20 or so original people that have stayed with Blizzard still turn out decent story lines.

They did take a lot of the difficult elements in the game and made it way basic, something on which I find not a blizzard decision but a Vendi decision

You can catch up on warsong pretty fast btw, there are always big shifts in population, seems like a wave of people quit and a wave join at the same time, of course a lot still stay as well.
Been a while since I played, but bwl and even aq40 aren't unreachable. :thumb:

D3 is pretty awesome. I've been playing it since launch day and many/most of the bugs have been ironed out. I'm kinda skeptical to the idea of the real money auction house, but I agree that it's a great solution to the D2 eBay/scam-site problems.

I think it's kind of short but it's very addictive and fun to play... especially with friends. The Cow Level rules, too, so that's a plus.

I have no interest in spending any money on items through the real-currency Auction House at all, but I could see myself bidding on something pretty sweet with in-game Gold eventually. :)*

Try it out! The game came with a few demo cards so that my friends could play a few quests and see if they dig... I imagine Blizz is offering free demos with pretty much everything. Don't knock it 'til ya try it.

I just got it last night. It is Sweet!!! Is it any different from Diablo II? Not really. But Diablo works, so why f it up. I think as a company, Blizzard is top notch. Wow always played good. Everytime I would start to get bored they would pump it up just enough to keep it interesting. YMMV.

I gotta say, the most interesting part is actually the interactions with the followers. I loved the back and forth my Monk and the Scoundrel had, I'm going through Normal a second time with the Witch Doctor and Templar, that seems like it'll be a fun group.

Friend just bought this for me...I've played about half an hour of Diablo 2.
What am I doing.
I'm making a Kenshiro. I mean, a monk.

I've never played either of the previous two. It doesn't make that much of a difference really.

:joy: That's what I used in the beta. You get a teleport attack at level 6 or something. Ken would dig it.

It does if you put about 40 hours a week for the better part of a decade into them...

Still angry about it.

Will probably break down in July/the first special offer I see.
