You can get twang out of it. If you are used to a telecaster though it isn't going to be the same. The bridge pickup doesn't have the sometimes-shrill high end of a fender pickup.
I just got the audio from the demo that we recorded a week or two ago. I will try to see if i can get some editing done tonight and get a demo posted!

I don't need no tele twang, just curious of the range. New guitars=new sounds=new inspirations. I'm coming off a Mustang after a Duo sonic after a Tele after a strat after a Jet King, so I like the lot but am ready for a different sound. I was so unsure when I got my tax money, and now that it's dwindled down I can't afford a full payment, but I gotta close to a nice down payment.

Don't rush your demos. You've got a very professional grasp on things. I'm ready for that demo though.

Yeah funny story about the name. I was initially going to call it the "Debutante" since it was my debut model.
However daisy rock trademarked that name for their (are you ready for this?) CHEAPER line of guitars.
So I landed on Coquette which I like waaaaay better. What a saucy name for such a seductive guitar!
Oh I am not rushing anything. This will, however, be my first video ever so it won't be a major motion picture but will get the point across I hope!
The range of tones, as you shall see, is really broad and the pickups are sensitive to your dynamics and respond nicely!

I've got this guy now!



Here are some initial thoughts after unboxing it and playing some recycled strings on it last night:

It's nice, really nice. I was quite surprised when I realized how tiny the body was, but I'm liking it a lot, it's comfortable.
I might eventually swap the knobs for some more round rollers, but I don't really mess with the volume and I never use the tone to really super consider it, plus I like how those hexagons look.
I think part of the comfort that it has is how little it weighs, it's definitely as light as or lighter than my pine Telecaster.
The pickups are nice. They kind of remind me of a cross between a strat single coil, a P90, and a humbucker. I'm going to tinker around with the hight of both of them a bit, but they played well with the muffs last night.
The neck profile is also really comfortable- not as thin as my MIM Telecaster neck, but not quite as thick as the MIM strat neck I have on my Telemaster.
I put a recycled set of strings on it really quick last night before I played around with it, I'm going to get some fresh strings for it tonight or on Friday and really dive in with it.
No real neck dive that I noticed, nice action as well. I think I'm going to get some Lemon Seed Oil and give the fretboard a little bit of love.
All in all it feels solid. There are a bunch of little quirky details in it that I enjoy, like the gold on the pickups being panted so that it can gradually be worn away, the openback tuners, the aluminum pickguard.
It was definitely an on the whim decision to pick it up, but I don't regret it. It's completely different from any other guitar I currently have, and a nice contrast as well.
Gonna be gigging with it this weekend, so it'll be put to the true test then, I think!

Me too! Last night I threw a set of .9's on it and it came alive. I'm always super hesitant to put that low a string gauge on any guitar I play because I pick really hard, but it's even more comfortable to play with the .9's on.
I also adjusted the pickup height a little bit last night and it's perfect now. The bridge is totally in p90 fatness with strat clarity range, and then the neck is smooth, bold, and fat.
I dig!!

Finally got to gig with the Coquette today and wow was it awesome.
I'm glad that I put the .9's on it. Super comfy, effortless to play. The pickups really shined and I didn't have a problem cutting through the mix at all.
Nice light weight left my back feeling great. The smaller scale and body just made it fit like a glove and super easy to move around the entire guitar.
Frets are the perfect size, action is low and great. Was playing post-rocky ambient stuff and it was just excellent.



Then I went over to Grrface's house and hung out for a bit with it. We jammed for probably an hour and a half over a drum machine doing slow stoner rock/doom stuff and again it was just a glove. Perfect fit, easy playability, and brought the heavies! The pickups take fuzz and drive extremely well.

Very nice indeed.

So glad to hear that you are digging the guitar! A friend if mine once ran one through a EH metal muff and then proceeded to do some finger tapping. I was amazed at how convincing of a metal-esque sound that guitar produced!

And yeah, I'm totally down with this guitar in terms of versatility. The only thing I've yet to try out on it is fast black metal style stuff, but I'll be changing that here soon
