Re: Ghost talk
Personally, I don't believe in any of that stuff, but I find it entertaining to hear of. Not to make light of anyones experiences, it's just my perspective. I'd like to hear though, Mr. cats.

Alright. Well, starting with my ex-friend's house.
One of the first things I remember happening when I was over at his place was looking out the door across the hall as I paced around his room. His room was in the basement of the home, so across the door was the stairway from the upstairs. I swear to fucking christ, as I was walking across the room I saw something that looked like a person crawl down the stairs and into the darkness. All I said to him was "That was fucking weird." and he told me to shut and lock the door. I told him about it after and he wasn't surprised.
I've also had heavy doors rattle like crazy, couches move, and seen shit move across other rooms. That house was fucked up.
At my parent's place I had frequent experiences in one room of the sensation of someone hugging me, or putting their arms on my shoulders while I read. It was really weird, but it never upset me, or made me feel uncomfortable. It was really friendly, and it stopped when Kate and I started dating, although it still "felt" like it was there sometimes.
Another weird thing that happened was in that same room, actually. I saw a light on under the door of my bedroom, and heard the voice of a man and a woman. I thought it was my parents until i started really listening harder, and realized that it was a pair of people that sounded dated back to the 1800s. Their voices and tones sounded really antiquated. Eventually the light shut off and the voices stopped. I asked my parents about it the next morning, and they didn't know anything about it.
And when I moved rooms, I had a fan go crazy one night. Around 3am, it sped up and got louder and louder, until I thought it was going to wake my parents up. The chair it was on was shaking, and eventually it went back to normal and I went to bed, hoping to ignore it.
Take this stuff how you want, it's just my experiences.

Re: Ghost talk
I'm optimistic to the idea of an after life. I've had some highly coincidental stuff happen to me as well as my Father. Regardless the idea that people we love live on within us is true via influence and inspiration. As far as ghosts, hauntings and such... it's possible but I haven't had a particular concrete event happen to me. Although I am easily spooked. I stayed in a "haunted" hotel somewhere in southern Arizona near Bisbee and I was too scared to go to sleep. I'm a wimp if I've watched UFO, ghosts, or supernatural specials on TV.
BUT I ALWAYS FEEL SAFE AFTER WATCHING THESE GUYS.

The supernatural is just so unimaginative.

Re: Ghost talk
The city where I live is considered, by those who believe, to be very haunted. I've been here for 11 years.
I live in a house that was already a decade old when the Great Depression hit. If I recall correctly, it was built on land that, prior to the Civil War, was a plantation on the outskirts of town. Before that, my property was just outside of the redoubts used during the Revolutionary War, and soldiers tracked across it. I have seen no ghosts.
Four times a day, every day, I head to the center of the downtown historic district. I pass groups of walking ghost tours, trolly ghost tours, and sometimes I am lucky enough to get stuck behind the convertible hearse tour. I've taken one tour (haunted pub tour), and have overheard enough tours that I could probably give a pretty good tour myself. I have seen no ghosts.
I drive over dead bodies all the time, where they paved over the Colonial Park Cemetery. I walk along the wall of tombstones-- dozens of them-- that have no matching bodies every time a new guest comes to town. I've seen all the tombstones that were vandalized by union soldiers who wintered in the cemetery, and the entire yellow fever section. The same goes for Bonaventure Cemetery, made famous by what is know down here as The Movie. I have seen no ghosts.
I've been to Ft. Pulaski, Old Fort Jackson, Battlefield Park (Siege of Savannah), and pretty much every other local landmark where people died in war. I've been to former plantations that were worked by slaves. Nearly every old building is said to be haunted down here, and I have been in a lot of old buildings. I have seen no ghosts.
I have, however, seen a considerable industry built around ghosts. Come to Savannah. See our ghosts. They're everywhere!

yeah, that's why i'm careful to say "i believe"...i don't KNOW. all i "know" is my mental impressions, and i'm not necessarily certain of them.

What I don't get is, why do they always move furniture around?
