I apologise if I have offended you, but Ireland has not faced the troubles of the 70's and earlier for a long time, especially not to that magnitube. People make entire million dollar-comedies based on the wars that happened in Vietnam, something far more tragic than the IRA versus the British, yet I cannot make a very simple passing joke on a small part of the Internet?

You say there is nothing to joke about, but there is. There is almost always something to joke about in life. Whether that offends someone is up to them. And again, if I have offended someone because the conflict has affected them in some way, I am sorry. But I live close to Omaha where a specific bombing happened, and I know where the line is. If I have crossed yours, sorry.

I wasn't saying you shouldn't joke, but that this isn't particularly a joking matter. You're right in that levity may be most useful. It's a great tension release.
