Whenever I hear something Billy Corgan has said, I also hear a fart noise in my head.

heh, heh, heh.

Slacker is a decent movie though. Good for a lazy Saturday afternoon. :idk:

Oh yeah, Billy, uhhhhhh...yeah, he's sorta right, but I'm also not sure what he's talking about. Alternative rock HAS sucked since roughly the mid 90's. Now it's just about sounding as masculine as possible while having the most pussified lyrics imaginable.

I rented Zeitgeist from the library and regretted it. Some of the worst piece of shit music I've come across. I really love old SP....but wow....they suck so much balls, now, it's not even funny. It's kinda of embarrassing, really. Like trying to watch the Lethal Weapons now that Mel Gibson's gone of the deep end...or Star Wars after the new ones crapped all over the old trilogy's legacy.

lol.
I don't even hate him or anything, I just want to grab him and tell him everything's going to be alright and stop being so angrey. I'll pet his bald head if he wants me to.
*bored at work*

I enjoyed Siamese Dream,
LOVED Mellon Collie,
Didn't mind Adore,
The rest onwards.. meh. And I don't want to be that 'meh' guy. Yadda yadda bands change/grow/evolve I know, I know. But still, meh. (I've enjoyed Radiohead's constant shifting).

Billy, what happened?

Infinitely this. SP's albums took a weird turn. I don't dislike the later albums, but I'm not as much a fan as those first three (you forgot Gish, dewd, that album kicks ass). Although, post-reunion SP is shitty as hell.

Although I wish Corgan would calm his damn ego down, I have to agree. I feel like since the indie scene showed up, the more popular side of rock has grown stagnant. There's a lot of bands that I wouldn't call rock that are doing some amazing stuff (AnCo, for example), but I feel like non-metal guitar music hasn't gone anywhere in the last few years. Maybe I'm just pessimistic, though. :idk:

Oh, and that shit's no joke, from what I've read.

I've heard a rumor that when Corgan played with Yahowa 13 they made fun of him for not being able to conceptually grasp what they're doing.

Really??? Every time I post now I should expect some Austin hate??? Hey D.o.S. what did you dislike about Austin last time you were here???

Slacker was a look at a scene in Austin 20 years ago that has been extinct since about the time the movie even came out...

wiki says that SP has sold 18.9 million in the USA only and that LB has sold 33 million, worldwide.

Checkity check the fax, ya'll....

I got those facts from wikipedias album pages for both albums buuuuuuut heres a nice little figure... Linkin Parks "hybrid theory" has sold over 23 million copies worldwide. Thats five million more that SP total us sales for their entire career....with one record. Linkin Park.

One thing I don't know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It’s so unreal
Didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on but didn’t even know
Wasted it all just to
Watch you go

I kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

One thing, I don’t know why
It doesn’t even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I’m surprised it got so (far)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end

You kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There’s only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all

It doesn’t even matter
