That's a different Murray's, the only two are in the village and GCT
And the upper west side is pretty nice. What don't you like about it?

Re: Tell me what to do in NYC
there was a pizza place my friend took me to one time, i think it was in/near chinatown. its like old school coal ovens (illegal now, but theyve been around for so long they got grandfathered) they use to cook the pizzas, and one old italian guy makes them all. i cant remember the name for the life of me so this may not be of very much help, but the pizza was bob-omb.
actually i think it was this place:

Re: Tell me what to do in NYC
The Upper West Side is nice & it's also pretty boring.
If I were going to NYC for the first time, the Upper West Side would be towards the bottom of the list of places I'd want to see. Nothing really not to like about it. I'd rather walk up and down Broadway near Houston or roam around the West Village or something. There are also a bunch of specialty stores (like niche book shops) that you don't find in many other places around the country. If I had a particular interest, I'd seek out shops like that. Really depends on where your interests lie. NY is never boring. (Well, maybe the UWS?)

I wish I could remember the name of this shady bar I found the last time I was down there. There were a bunch of people smoking inside, and a stray dog wandering around the bar.

Yeah, it's a different Murray's, but still, half priced cheese is half priced cheese.
I'd also recommend headin down to Chinatown. It smells weird, makes you feel like a giant, has yummy food, and nifty shops.

The stuff in the shops will break in 2 seconds. Grand Sezchuan is a particularly good chinese place right next to the manhattan bridge

If you are a beer fanatic, you must go here:
http://gingerman-ny.com/
And for shits and giggles, hit up McSorley's Ale House. It's really fun-loud-drinky. And it's about 100 feet from this awesome place:
http://burpcastlenyc.wordpress.com/
Also, if you're a reader, you MUST go to Strand:
http://www.strandbooks.com/
The web site makes it look all fancy, but it's really low-key. It has that great musty, used-bookish smell to whole place. And it's fucking massive.
I can probably swing in for a meetup with you and others if it's on Saturday.

Hell yeah. And you can get bootleg movies for cheap. And a "Tag Heuer" watch for about $60.

*See my first recommendation
Yeah! I forgot about the highline! It's nice, and since it's been warm as shit here, it'll probably be in full bloom by then.
