Rygot you cray, picks are the most important thing, then the consistency of the callouses on your fretting hand followed by how the weather is outside.

But really, amp is most important. I never realized there was any doubt about this.

^I've never bought picks. I have one that I've always used- got it from a friend. I've never lost it and it did not break yet.

Ah, fuck. Forgot the callouses.

Weather doesn't matter if you've got 15 humidifiers and dehumidifiers in your guitar showroom.

Also, I lose about 5 picks every time I pick up my guitar.

If I was starting from scratch I'd buy a cheaper instrument in order to afford a better amp. Then get pedals. Then upgrade guitar if needed.

As of now, however, my want for a nicer bass is pretty equal to my want for a nicer amp. The stuff I have now is great though and I don't need anything else really. Super solid ibanez bass and a 200s...I've got nothing to complain about.

1. Pedals
2. Amp
3. Guitar

I refuse to spend more than 500 on a guitar or amp. My amp was 120 and I love it more to death. I like it a lot more then any tube or expensive amp I've had.

I worry more about how something sounds than the pricetag, but i do agree that if you have to spend a little extra something I'd do it on an amp over a guitar. Hell my amp cost twice as much as my SG.

I guess technically they all have to work together. You're only a strong as your weakest link. Certain components are easy not to fuck up, but if you mess up one of them, you'll sound crappy. You can have a great guitar, a great amp but if you put them through this:

It'll all suck
