I've got the nook touch...touch screen + physical page turn buttons = awesome.
+1 about calibre...
I wish I could read itunes books on it though...it's just a standard epub file, just with apple's insane DRM on it.
I got about a billion itunes giftcards for christmas (hay he's a musician! He must love itunes!) and I have nothing to spend them on.

I combat that by saying "I hate iTunes, gimme sweetwater"

My Wife a Kindle touch. It is the best thing ever. I'm hoping to get a Kindle Fire or Android tablet in June. I want to use it as an e-reader and a display for schematics at work.

It's pretty awesome as a schematic book, and for datasheets as well. But I like to draw around on a schematic so I print them out and use a pencil, like in the good old days.

I use graph-paper notebooks for the early stages of circuit design. I'd love to use a tablet PC and stylus but they just aren't ready to replace my paper notebooks, in the price point that I can afford.

The cost to make a physical book in large runs is insignificant, and the cost isn't set by Amazon (or whatever company you're buying from), really. It's as much the publisher that dictates the price.
In my experience, though, ebooks are about the same price as paperbacks. Sometimes a little more expensive, and sometimes a little less.

You know what would be neat? Download codes when you buy the physical book. Because I refuse to pay for an ebook.
