I blame Wimbush and Wooten for making it so that every fucking demo done on a bass has endless amounts of slapping and wankery. Even when they're demoing a pedal, almost every bassist does this BIPPITYBIPPITYBIPPITY fucking shit. I can't fucking stand it.

Wooten is a proficient bass player, I don't listen to anything by him. He is a TB God
Wimbish is better than Wooten. At least he is more experimental. Fuck the dude played bass on The Sugar Hill Gang stuff, you can't fuck with him.
Bootsy is the shit, lick my balls. I mean James Brown and P-funk.
Les is great too. I get that people may not love him but he has made some cool music.
I fuck around with slapping and popping as my noodling. It is fun. To be great takes a lot of skill. I must admit that I don't go around listening to Funk very often, but I can appreciate it when it is done right.
It can be cheesy too.

as a player floating around funk a lot, i'm used to and i like slapping... not ALL THE TIME, though
