That gif is awful and terribly misleading.
Kitten bbq is delicious.

Anybody know what kind of support this has in the house?

SOPA/PIPA will likely end up dead for the rest of the session. It's an election year, after all.

One problem is that the backers of legislation like this are in it for the long haul, and have a lot of money to spend, while the public's attention span is weak, and their votes easily bought.

Ultimately, the Internet will be regulated, whether we protest or not. Legislation like this directly impacts my website and me, and it stinks.

How many of you knew that SCOTUS ruled today, 6-2, that the congress has the power to take public domain creative works out of the public domain, and assign copyright to them?

That public domain image you used, or that public domain song you recorded, might not be public domain anymore. You might be an accidental thief.

SCOTUS and the congress agree: you can put the genie back in the lamp.

SOPA is stuck in House Judiciary Committee. Hasn't made it to the senate yet.

PROTECT IP Act has been introduced in the senate. Hasn't made it to the house yet, or to committee, I believe.

These things aren't going anywhere, at least not fast.

I wrote:Senator Graham,

I'm writing to say that I'm absolutely against SOPA and PIPA, and I'm appalled that legislation like this could ever become more than a glimmer of a thought.

Websites like Wikipedia and Google fight for our freedom while the government threatens to take it. It's a disgusting situation, the idea that American freedom of speech should be reduced in the interest of monetary gain. America has just been propositioned to sell her soul.

Just now realizing that the grammar is not all that great. Oh well.
