That's pretty badass. I was in 6th grade and still listening to shitty top 40 radio when Bohemian Rhapsody came back on the charts after Wayne's World, and it blew my mind. I listened to so much Queen in the next couple of years that I wore the damn tapes out - they were my gateway to good music. Getting made fun of because "Queen are all fags" and "their singer's a queer who died of AIDS" was also the first time I ever questioned the redneck homophobia that I grew up with. It seems funny now, but growing up sheltered and religious in the Midwest, Freddie was the first reason I ever had to ask myself, "why should I even care if somebody's gay?"

Anyway, Queen rules and Freddie Mercury is the greatest rock singer that ever was or will be.

when it comes to rock singers he's tops. when it comes to frontmen, he's only ousted by Daltry.
