I work in downtown DC, and my building got a good shaking. I work on the second floor, I imagine it must of been pretty scary up on the tenth. This was my first earthquake!

That is awesome!
Just saw this ad go up on craigslist: "Shake the Earth with this Djembe Drum..."

Felt the quake while I was playing, I genuinely thought the metal things holding my tubes in place came loose

Yup shook things up a bit.
Center is 87 miles from me more or less.
Had to tell the neighbors “no I didn’t get a new pedal today”
But that’s the effect I’m striving to achieve.

I live here on the center...from what I've read at least...still curious as to what other people felt.

that was fortunate...5.9 is just about enough to be noticeable and scary without fucking anything up seriously. with the amount of unreinforced masonry on the east coast, something in the 6.5 range or so could have been nasty, and 6.5 is minor as far as "major earthquakes" go.

I guess living in California desensitized me. I don't even get out of bed for a 5.9.

We got some rumblings in Ohio. My dog, normally an incredibly quiet, always by your side dog, was freaking out.
