As well as the Verellen Big Spider.
Sadly they picked the most stupid people to do the interviews about fuzz design with. Zachary Vex made his appearance to say "I don't know why germanium and silicon sound different because no one has ever figured out why". Obviously he's never actually OPENED a book regarding electronics from the last 50 years to understand the germanium curves.

That one kinda had me scratching my head, too.

Excellent fuzz you don't hear much about...I picked one up on a whim and it really impressed.
It's kinda buzzaround-y but not quite the same as other "clones".

I suspect it was made in the same way all reviews are in magazines, solicited bribery. :/

I don't get the EH GERM 4 BMP
it has an OD side and a distortion side, they should have taken the NYC wicker.
No Devi
No Blackout
No dwarf
no fuzzhugger
yikes, it's like they ignored the actual people who use fuzz pedals

You do realize that 99% of the reviews in magazines are paid for by the companies, right?

you do remember that folks like you and i, i.e. the ILF user base, aren't necessarily reflective of the fuzz user base at large? i'm surprised that they got as far outside of Guitar Center as they did. Creepy Fingers got in the list, for heavens' sake! EQD got in the list! a journey of a thousand miles begins with a box a little weirder than your Digitech Death Metal, or something like that.

It certainly does. I emailed them once about all the different manufacturers and whatnot around the interwebs and about some new products...
Their response was less than enthusiastic.

The thing that totally seals the deal that this is paid for, is the fact that they use all of the current production models, even when those aren't the celebrated models.
The FZ-5 is widely considered fucking terrible. But a lot of people like the FZ-3. Also, I've heard tons of great shit about the Guyatone TZ-2, which is supposed to be a great SuperFuzz clone. But I haven't heard a fucking thing about the TZm5. If this was really about great fuzz pedals and not just a paid-for advertisement, they wouldn't just be talking about currently in production models.
