I disagree that bacon is better crispy (aka burnt to a fucking cinder). I wouldn't say that I necessarily like it floppy per se, but it should still be soft enough to recognize as a cut of meat. The thicker and meatier the better.

As for bacon desserts, I've had chocolate covered bacon, bacon brownies, bacon cupcakes, bacon ice cream (fucking delicious) and the greatest fucking thing ever, maple bacon custard pie.
