I double majored in economics and polical science. I realized political science was a joke too so I went for a major that studied the same subject matter in a far more thorough and applicable way. I'm shopin for schools now to get a master's degree in either economic theory or, if I'm feeling greedy and lazy, financial economics.

I'm starting a Bachelor in behavioral sciences in a month, but I've been taking psychology for a year already. It's okay. I took Theoretical philosophy for for a year before that, which was awesome but sadly has no work opportunities at all.

Computer Science at a really dorky engineering school, even though I fucking hated programming. Then law school.

I thought about law school too for a while. Then I realized (after working in a law firm for a year) that I don't like lawyers.

I would love the constitutional theory of it. But in real life, the theoretical portion of law school just doesn't apply.

i probably would have been good at it, because i love argument (in the logical sense LOL) and that kind of shark-like application of logic and intellect to prove a point. but i don't think i would have been able to stomach the inevitable conflicts that would come up in arguing for clients and cases/causes i felt or knew were wrong but was obligated to as their advocate. and i don't want to have that much responsibility for other people's existence, to know that depending on how i do at work today some dude may die in the electric chair, or spend their life without compensation for their tort, or never receive justice for the loss of their child to some random gang-banger, drunk driver, or defective product.

There is very little actual justice in the application of the law. Just a lot of money flying around and douche bag rich fuckers trying to yell louder than the other side.

I also love to argue (in the logical, intellectual sense) but whoa. Law firm life really changed my view of things. Also, I didn't like having dirty old me make comments about my appearance. YUCK.

I had pretty much the same experience. I thought it would be really cool and such, but then when i realized that I'd have a hard time putting my emotions and personal biases aside on the inevitable case where i disagreed with my own position, i had to say it wasnt' for me. :/

well, there's that, too. i was just thinking about the issues that would come up other than the ones already inherent in the system. saying that the legal profession features douchebags throwing money around is like saying that auto repair shops smell of gasoline ;)
