That's such a dumb debate. If you row you're always going to get there faster than if you wade.

Buh-dum-cha!

Well of course this wasn't terrorism, it wasn't the work of nonwhite [at a guess], non-christian liberal-minded heathens.

Again: this stuff makes me wish men could get pregnant.

Sadly the neo-conservative movement almost promotes this nonsense. It makes me furious that people with my beliefs (libertarian) often get lumped in with these idiots. I wish people would worry about themselves instead of initiating violence to force people to their way of thinking. I will debate endlessly to try and open someones mind to liberty, the idea of hurting someone to make them agree with me is beyond my capabilities. This is just another thing that makes me pessimistic regarding the future of the human race.

Yeah if the government would just overturn Roe vs. Wade this never would have happened!!!

:duck:

Interestingly enough, Conservative leaders don't really want Roe v. Wade overturned, because abortion is a tentpole issue that they use to mobilize their increasingly dangerous base.

It's a few years old at this point, but What's the Matter with Kansas? is a fascinating case study on how the right wing gets the lower and middle classes to vote against their own best interests.

could someone tell me what salon news is? as much as i agree with this article, it seems to have almost as heavy a left-wing bias as the media outlets the article condemns.

Salon News = part of Slate, an associated site of MSNBC. so yeah, about as far to the left as you can get on a mainstream US media outlet that maintains the pretense of news as opposed to editorialising.

Mainstream? More like lamestream media!

amirite???

But seriously, this wasn't news because nobody died. No crying families, tragic endings = no viewers. There's little girls drowning in rivers in New Hampshire for us to be thinking about right now. And guys being murdered with their own gun by their neighbors just outside the town where I live.

This whole "anti-mainstream media" thing is so retarded. Conservatives tend not to be journalists just like liberals tend not to own military surplus stores. It's not some great conspiracy.

Ah, a Cracked reader.

Dazzle us with some more gleefully-pilfered psuedo-literate oversimplification, eh?

The US has a right-wing bias. Therefore the media has a right-wing bias. Whenever you hear anything about the dreaded and deadly "liberal bias of the mainstream media," you're talking the differences between slate and grey. All those guys still support a globalized industrial hegemony with the US at the top.

Also known as: "Why Azerbaijan will never do anything economically except export denim, because the rest of the world likes our jeans and likes 'em cheap, thank you very much."
:excellent:

Excuse me, I seem to have left my tin-foil hat in my conspiracy theory radio tower.

Big media is big business, about the only major "left-leaning" media company is Current. And I have a hard time calling them major.

Absolutely. Just like gay marriage, welfare queens, illegal immigration, atheism, socialism, death panels, and the war against Christmas! :animal:
