Wow, that's a surprise. Something must be wrong. I've done deals with him in the past and everything's been fine. Didn't he get broken into or something recently too ... something's up.

I know it was done voluntarily but if someone asked me to use the gift option,...I'd back out of the deal.
Sounds like there is something deeper then a mere scam going on here. Hope this all get's sorted out and that commun is well and the tourist get's his gear.

I use gift simply to be a "solid bro", but never realized the possible negative consequences. The 3% is kinda annoying though. Maybe just to me.
Also, my general faith in humanity says this will get sorted through.

Fuck the gift option. If you can't afford to take a hit on paypal, then don't fucking use paypal. Seriously. Why are people such cheap asses on gear sites? It makes no sense. They don't take that damn much anyway. Adjust your price if it's that big a deal. The gift option is stupid IMO and paypal needs to just get rid of it. Who the hell would do a gift online anyway? Isn't that what your check book is for?
Also, this sucks ass. I try and sell/trade stuff here and get little to no interest and I think it's because of transactions like this.

Glad everything's worked out. I had a weird deal a while ago where I really thought I'd been scammed. The guy just disappeared. Then like a couple months later the pedal arrived. No idea what happened.

Life does indeed happen. It's weird but almost every time I do a transaction somehow I have something bad happen and my money is held up and I can't ship as timely and maintain communication with the buyer. I'm glad this all got resolved. Don't let it sway you sir.
