I was in the same boat with amp search. All sorts of feeling defeated and stressed out when I thought an amp might be *it* and then I played it in person with my guitar and it was lame. Though, I could just be weird.

3 orange full stacks live. 1 half stack in apartment. Tell your neighbors to man the fuck up, IMHO.

Yes! :thumb:

Although I've been training my neighbors to appreciate my guitar noise with my 15w combo, until I build my head & get an Emperor cab..

Fenders usually sound best on the verge of breaking up in my opinion. I agree with most of the suggestions. I'd go with a Twin Reverb, Deluxe Reverb, Bassman, etc. Those will be great for playing live. If you find that it doesn't sound that great at apartment levels just get an attenuator. They can be found for fairly cheap these days.

I've got a Weber attenuator on the way with a headphone tap added, so that I'll be able to play into a nice pair of studio headphones and not bother the neighbors. Plus, the MASS-system (essentially a speaker coil without a speaker cone) is supposed to have better response than just a big resistor pretending to be a speaker. YMMV, they're not as cheap as some attenuators.
