GREAT PROGRESS i'd say :) :thumb:

Thanks! Yes, it's been almost a year, and I've tried twice as many pedals as I ended up keeping. I try to be as much of a minimalist as I can... it's hard, but very liberating when you start whittling down your collection to the absolute necessities. If I had to choose one box thru all of this, it would be the ALGAL BLOOM!

I could go even further back to some of my boards before I was in a "professional" band.

WAY BEFORE

Boss Dual Overdrive w/remote switch >
Boss Super Distortion & Feedbacker >
Dunlop Stereo Tremolo >
MXR Phase 100 >
Fender Princeton 60W Solid State

I don't think I ever had a "bad" setup, but I could never really get the sounds I wanted. ^^^That was circa 1999-2000.

Anyway. Only a few posts left.

well, when i stopped playing sabbath tunes in my bedroom and started playing with other people my board was a mr crybaby super or what ever the volume/wah was called into a nyc muff. still have that muff. oh, that was summer of 95.

wound up with a boss flanger a year later.

got a boss gt-5 in early 98 and started going nuts with effects! Mudfuzz has heard some of the silliness that was The Golden Moose! :thumb:

started working a 3 pm to 130 am shift at work in november of 02 and really did not play much until i was put back on days in june of 06. however i stopped using the gt-5 around that time and bought a deluxe memory man. so when i did play it was the mr crybaby super>muff>dmm.

once i got back on days i started playing a lot again and picked up a 535q, tube zipper, wiggler, ducetone rat and a zvex fuzz probe. :omg: that fuzz probe and dmm can give out some sick shit but the fuzz probe is only fun when you are barefoot so... :idk:

when The Owl Cambridge started up i did not use many pedals as my oousin, mr master of classical performance :whateva: , was a bit uptight about me using pedals. :idk: but he had no problem with our bass player being noisy as fuck so i did not use much more than the wah and the dmm for that. when andy, the bass player that grew up in wis rapids, bought an ect i flipped! that is when i found ilf! :!!!:

my chain evolves so much but right now as it sits on the floor...

upper>loop has second voice>harmony synth>1134>the magic fuzz hugger loop one>devi never>im coming for you motherfucker>second loop> the fuzzhuggasaurus> third loop > the blooming wall of fuzz > fourth loop > deadman's guuhgh > super oscillo fuzz 88 > fuck od proto > team awesome fuzz machine *end of the fourth loop*> and aardvarks > ghost disaster

in fact i am going to swap the 1134 for something else, possibly move the super oscillo 88 over there, and i will probably rip up the fourth loop for some eb>mystery fuzz>yotr action i think... :erm:

i need more power and more cables so i can sneak in the cosmichorus, randy's revenge, ring stinger and many many more....

 Yeah!

Hey I still feel I would not be playing if it wasn't for FX  I messed around with a acoustic guitar a bit but it was when my dad let me mess with a old sideman headphone amp [with DISTORTION, flange and chorus] that I was like THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO! and then I heard this!

My world, it was rocked! my life it was changed.
What happened with coming here though was I was really unhappy with my dirt at the time and I wanted something extreme and MM posted something aboot Effector 13 on TB and so I here I am!

Only pedals I bought since being an ILF-member are a Boss PS-2 and a RV-3, no new fuzz since ILF :picard:
But I also started diy'ing and when I recieve some 3 dpdt switches there will be 4 fuzzes ready for use :!!!:
Cause my Bass Big Muff is nice, but not awesome enough of course ;)

When I started getting pedals (maybe 3 years ago?), I slowly aquired a crybaby, digitech delay, byoc octave fuzz, and a whammy. I got bored of the whammy, realised I didn't like wah that much, and started getting more thingsThis is the oldest board photo I can find, from about a year ago.

Some cool stuff, I still actually have all of those except the two delays, but the only one that's still on my board right now is the Small Stone. I got a DMM and an ibanez CS505 and sold those two pedals (and tried really hard to sell some others).

Since joining ILF I've aquired:
-Watkins Copicat
-SS/BS TAFM :joy:
-Devi Ever Disaster Fuzz
-EHX Stereo Polyphase

I was rockin' this for like 2 months:

Then I got bored of chorus and the crappy buffer in the DOD octaver, didn't want to risk breaking my copicat taking it to uni ( :( ) and got a polyphase a few days ago, so today I have a really grainy board:

before ILF:
Shitty Cry Baby
Dano Fab OD

After ILF:
Dwarfcraft ECT
Noise Invaders
Dwarfcraft TGD
Russian Small Stone
DOD Stereo Phaser
MXR Carbon Copy
Boss HM-2
Chk Chk Boom
and......
THE SAME DANO FAB OD!

I found ILF by being crazy disappointed in my sound, so i set upon a fuzz quest. Which somehow led me to Dwarfcraft, and then from that i found myself here.

Doubt I could go through and remember ALL that I had so I'll just go with right before I joined.
Tuna Melt, Sovtek Small Stone, Arion Phaser, Arion Metal Master(not pictured), Johnson TS9 copy, 80's Ibanez/maxon cs9, Crybaby, fuzzrite clone, fab tone(not pictured). Some of these pedals I never used, or were given to me.

Image

Which quickly turned into this after about a month...added absynth, algal bloom, npn fuzz, lpb, dmuff, dd5
Image
Only 7 of ^those are left. DMuff, Lpb2, ABsynth, crybaby, fuzzrite, scruffie face, tuna melt

I also had a TAFM and a Phantom Octave for a while. Got a Melx too (still use).

My board now looks like this
Image
things not pictured...Fix'd Fuzz, Melx2, Lpb2, DMuff, Crush Fuzz, Crybaby, Type U73 synth, Fuzzrite clone, Scruffie face

Definitely had other pedals, amps, basses, in between all that but there's no way...

Prepare for bandwidth consumption.
My journey started on bass and then expanded.
There were plenty of changes between all of this, but this is what I actually have in pictures and there were way too many changes to try to recount.

ILF has provided me with a Hoof and has me itching to try a Sea Machine and a Team Awesome Fuzz Machine.
There are plenty of others I'd love to try, but those two are at the top.
