I'd never pay full price for a dba, but some are still gems...well, the fuzzgun is a gem.

the fuzzgun destroys the fuzz factory. I Love it, and that filter on it is so good...it is definitely one of my top two or three fuzzes.
soundwave breakdown was a bit limited and was very particular about chain placement, but it could achieve some incredible sounds.
robot had a great octave effect, but everything else on it was fairly unextraordinary. the arp on it was fun, but not very useful and way too noisy.

Word to this.

Ehhhhhhhhhh.

I haven't watched a LOT of videos on these pedals, but nothing impresses me. I'm no cork sniffa, but, for example, the Fuzz War reminds me a LOT of the Boss DF-2 Super Distortion & Feedbacker I used to have... just with more noise. There is one video in which a gentleman goes Fuzz War into black Big Muff... that actually sounds pretty sweet.

But I guess I'd just chalk it up more to "not my thing" than "not very good". The sounds just aren't all that unique or distinctive to me... there are a ton of way cheaper boutique pedals that have much more interesting and inspiring sounds.

Plus I think the names of the pedals are GGGAAAAAAAYYYY. Like, as I can imagine actually happened, two stoners sat around and said:

"Hey, wouldn't it be way awesome if we named a pedal *whatever DBA pedal*?"

"Yyyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh."

I have a Harmonic Transformer and Soundwave Breakdown. I like them both but I'm glad I didn't pay anywhere near retail for them.

For $150, it's a more reasonably priced DBA pedal and man does it have some thickkk fuzz. I really haven't been able to coax a wide range of tones out of mine, but when you find the sweet spot you just can't stop playing

If i can find a way to get some recording equipment to fit in my tiny dorm room, I plan on recording a short song I wrote using it and maybe my Internet OD as well :idk:

Yeah I expected a bit more when I opened up my Fuzz War, but it sounds great and wasn't as expensive as other pedals in their lineup so I guess I can't complain.

i really like dba pedals...i would never pay list, always used. but hey..if they can get that much for them...so be it. i dig the octave clang, robot v1 and evil filter. they sound good with dirty amps too.... i like that.

If you like the robot, look for the Catalinbread Heliotrope.
Not exactly the same type but a bit similar and very good price and more pedalboard friendly.

Been watching a few videos of it and it sounds killer, especially nice at half of the price and a smaller footprint!
