Any cheese fans here? (like really cheese, not a euphemism)

Yes, my wife and I are fucking addicted to artisan cheeses. There is this place in Warren, RI called "The Cheese Plate" that we go to every now and then. They don't serve any food other than cheese plates with assorted nuts, fruits and meats. Plus they have an OK beer selection and a pretty good wine selection.

My wife is a huge fan of Gorgonzola, and really any bleu.

My favorite cheeses tend to be the softer goat cheeses. I can also get with bries, camemberts, and triple cremes.

My favorite beer/cheese combo is Humboldt Fog, and Duchesse de Bourgogne (a Flanders Red Ale):

So my best friend moved to florida recently, and when i went down and visited him we went to whole foods and picked out 30+ cheeses. I have to say that just about every goat cheese they have to offer is slammin. Humboldt fog was another favourite of mine. Not a fan of your standard bullshit ass rubber brick moz, but when you get some fresh made buffalo moz or smoked buffalo moz, oh my goodness. I can eat that shit all day.

Delerium Tremens is one of the most perfect beers. they had a Delerium bar last i was in budapest.

Also, the cheese selection/style of cheddar in the UK is far superior to the stuff we have in america. Sharper, bolder, tangier, you name it. it's just better. Even your standard sainsbury farmhouse comes from a farm like right outside of london. (i lived in london for a bit) it was amazing. I wish i new of Neils when i was there.

i work in a specialty store where we have a pretty decent cheese selection. I've got some aged cheddar right now that's pretty good, and it didn't cost too much. my personal favorite tho is a spread called beer cheese. it's made with real beer. beer = awesome. cheese = awesome. where can you go wrong? also, gruyere is a very good cheese. we also have this new stuff called tiramisu mascarpone. it's a triple creme that tastes like a coffee flavored dessert spread. and i love gouda. we had some smoked gouda a while back and it was fantastic. also, beer and cheese is a much better combo than wine and cheese IMO. i've just never had a wine that i truly loved. beer on the other hand....

I like cheese.

Favorites include: (most of these are on the blue collar side,...but I don't discriminate) My absolute favorite,...there is always a block of it in the house is Extra Sharp Aged White Cheddar,...makes great nachos and is excellent in mashed potatoes and cheesy scrambled eggs. Cheep American Vinyl Cheese for Grilled Cheese Sammichs (the real kind not the fellatio euphemism). Cotija for huevos rancheros and any other sort of Mexican or Pseudo Mexican Dish. Chevre for crackers. I like Feta and Gorganzola or any sort of Bleu Cheese (also my favorite dressing for salads and Buffalo Wings). And of course any old Cheddar, Colby/Jack,....Mozzarella,...Parmesan (not the green canister kind though; yuck).

We have an excellent local artisan cheese maker in Heron Pond Farms who raise their own goats and make an excellent Chevre and some beer cheesees

I have to admit I don't have much access to good cheeses...though I did visit a local store that had a pretty big selection of gourmet cheeses...
I'm a little new to it, so I didn't really know what to look for.

Though I do know that I am a big bleu cheese fan..

The people who make Humboldt Fog, Cypress Grove, make a delicious goat cheese called Purple Haze. It's creamy like all goat cheeses should be, but it has lavender and fennel pollen in it so it tastes very fresh. You can get it at Whole Foods and its not terribly expensive.

Not to be a hair-splitting douchebag, but La Fin Du Monde is French-Canadian beer. But it is Belgian-style. In the BJCP style guidelines, it would fall into Category 18D:

funny, i spend half of my food stamps on cheese at whole foods(yes whole foods take food stamps). free cheese!!! favorites? mellow milky cheese with flavor(not mozzarella). smoked are excellent too. so prolly a smoked gouda is my fav.

As for cheese, I'm not exactly a connoisseur, but I do love brie. Delicious with some thin slices of toasted sourdough.
