This is terrible. Sorry you're having to get involved and do something, but I'm glad you're working on putting an end to all of this. Perhaps email those venues about what's happening...after the tour is canceled he'll have to come back...right?

Maybe it's just the booze, but I have nothing to do and want to help get this fucker. Not because he's a thief and all that, but because I have nothing to do with my time. Selflessness is less motivating that selfishness.
If he only goes out to play shows, you could have somebody contact him as a promoter/venue organizer and have him schedule a show at some location, stake it out, and bust him when he shows up. Just a thought. It'd be fucking dramatic as hell. This shit would be like TV movie material. Or at least an episode of Law and Order or something.

I know it doesn't solve anything, but I totally understand how you would want to smack his dumb ass around. 
Fucking his shit up by intervening legally would be much more satisfying in the long run though.
