when i've been dead broke i've always depended on the local library. i tend to go for huge works of history because that's always been my Big Thing since i was little, but sometimes i'll go off on a tangent, e.g. i once spent 6 months reading epic mountaineering narratives and once spent a month reading Anthony Burgess' non-Clockwork Orange books after hearing a radio interview.

I like building card houses when I'm really desperate for something to do. My record is fifteen stories. Fun but you have to be really bored.

Learning constellations and reading mythology is awesome.
