so, Vinnie, are you using a different compressor now, and if so what? i can see how the PT would be less than optimal for bass; i'm working out how to get what i want from it for guitar, but you'd really need more attack/decay control for bass (i also play bass sometimes).

I can answer this for you.


He uses a cs-2. Not as a typical compressor. More as a holy fuck thats loud and has driven your bass into fuzz land that rips my fucking face off compressor.

Works pretty well for this.

Yes. As of late I've been using a mixture of my amp and a Fulltone BD for my OD sounds. I typically playing clean on 7. Throw it up to 10 for some spank, pedal throws into od. And I was thinking the blend on the PT wouldn't hurt. But I lost the dynamic range I needed. So for sustain I just turn my amp up more. :thumb:

I shot out the PT vs. the Boss CS-2 for what I wanted for a over the top singing boost. Something about the CS-2 which is technically probably less quality makes the CS-2 sing to me. Maybe it's the nasty build or the presence of an attack knob.
