Do it!
See you in 10 years.

No, seriously, do it. Go travelling, but go to Vietnam or India or Paraguay or somewhere, not Ottowa or Regina or Victoria ...

Good on ya, man. Don't forget to buy a little netbook or something so you can keep in touch with us.

Actually I love Montreal - it's the best city in the country. I didn't mean to bail on you but some craziness went down, I was in a big car accident and I ended up living in Toronto all this time. And it is THIS place and this shitty domestic life that is killing me. I'll definitely come back to MTL sometime soon - I'm still a resident of Québec - but for now, I need to stretch my soul.

You don't have to watch the whole scene to get the main point, just watch the last 15 seconds.

Yeah I think when I hit 25 I realized that world we are SUPPOSED to participate in is a bunch of fucking bullshit. It made me more angry for a few years though, but I've come to terms with it now. I mean okay sure, I like living comfortably, but The Chosen Path is definitely not something I follow.

You know when you find people from high school years later and see they have had kids, a nice mortgage, boring jobs, an oversized SUV, and that is supposed to be the Definition of Success? I have one friend who is a relatively successful artist (read: poor as fuck) who survives on GPCs and Pabst. He's my god damn hero.

Busk away! :joy:

You ever read "On the Road"...? If you go on the road, take that book or read it until it's ingrained in your soul.....

Many of us artistic types who love music and stop to look around once in a while can lead tortured lives because we see and hear and feel while everyone else just follows the tune of the all-mighty dollar.... I feel you Elban, and support whatever choice you make, whether you roam the earth to find yourself of end up staying and succumbing to domestic living.... Your soul is your own....

Steel resonator is a fantastic idea but if you do it you gotta make sure you head down and visit delta blues territory, I'll make a point of meeting you down there to jam with the devil....

Yeah man. I've read and re-read Kerouac's "On the Road" a few times. That book never fails to get me juiced and moving. It's so full of energy... I can open any page, read it and I'm ready to go!

I WILL go down to the Delta region. And I hope that I'll see you there.

I think this is so true and it seems like lots of us here can relate with you Elban, with feeling that way and with doing something about it that was a big change.

I spent nearly 10 years working in the oilfields of northern BC and I kept feeling more bored, hopeless, and desperate for change as time went on even though the money was great. I moved to Edmonton, went to NAIT, and got back that excitement for life and happiness with what I was doing.

Good luck to you on your search, it's out there waiting for you too!
