but doesn't this decision essentially rendered that moot. i'm mean its bourgeoisie politics. tides turn. Ted Olson was the Solicitor General. now he's on the losing end. shit happens. i'm hardwired for the struggle. & the struggle doesn't involve passive-aggressive whining. who knows how long this may last. it goes on appeal to the Supreme Court & watch what will happen. unless this is 'etched' in stone it seems like a hollow victorie & hell i can't go to a gay bar to celebrate becuz my ass BROKE !!!

It's interesting, when I think back about how angry and disappointed I was when prop 8 actually passed... looking back, I realize that it *had* to pass, and that it passing was an important first step for this country and equal rights. If it wouldn't have passed, we wouldn't have seen this judge over turn it and state the very simple principle that the law does nothing except legally establish that hetero couples are somehow superior to homosexual couples, which is of course a load of malarky.
I do believe this case will go to the supreme court, and I also believe that a decision made there in the name of equal rights (something I am also confident of) will set a precedent that no state will be able to ignore. this is what needs to happen.
also: I'm pretty sure that if you were actually going to buy danelectro, the prop 8 thing probably wouldn't have stood in the way.

you know at first it wasn't. just becuz i hate bullshit reformist 'no logo' politics. i have no illusions in thinking Prop 8 i will make this country a more equitable society. some people do though. they have a right to think that way.
i just thought well if enough ppl are against it i should at least have some sort of 'moratorium' on buying ANY Dano product. at least show some sort of SOLIDARIDAD. but the politics of this. on both sides. is really incorrigible. it's just fucking pathetic. bottom-line...

if the support for prop 8 was enough to make you not want to buy dano products, then prop 8 being overturned does not suddenly remove that original support. boycott for good or until he/they issue an apology.

... what the fuck are you even talking about?
A federal judge deemed banning marriage between two people based on sexual orientation unconstitutional. That's awesome, and really makes the debate against gay marriage that much more difficult.
People don't want to buy Dano products because the owner took an active stance against gay marriage by donating in favor of prop 8. I don't get how you can over-analyze that so much.
Even if he didn't, they're still just shitty clones.

Yeah, you're totally right.
One one side, we have a group of people who want everyone, homo and hetero alike, to have the same rights.
On the other side, a group who want to deprive people who aren't like them of the right to marry the person they love. They argue using fear, misinformation, and intimidation.
Both sides are are really incorrigible!

What a thorough, astute, and highly interesting response! I appreciate the effort you have put into it, and how it not only explains your point of view, but really drives it home too! Well done.

I do like how when people don't buy into your hipster tendencies and prove you don't know what you're talking about you always go back to posting stupid gifs and pics
