I really don't buy this overall, since the site it's on seems to be so insanely biased against "liberals" in general. It seems like kind of an anal study too.

Also the fact that countries that are far more left leaning that are more similar to the ideologies of american liberals seem to have no problem balancing the books. I would buy that conservatives might have better business sense in some ways since the US has many large multinationals, but I think as with regards overall economics, can you really say countries like Sweden run by social democrats are "inferior" economically?

It seems to me there must be some trick to it, otherwise america really is a bit fucked, to be honest. Relying on people who think gay marriage is a sin and laissez faire capitalism is good for us in the long run to balance your books is not a positive.

Don't think so -- that's just a marketing slogan. What they're good at is lining their own pockets at the expense of everyone else.

i mean that has definitely been true for a country like Brasil which is really doing well economically right now & has a left-leaning head of state. but in my experience most left-leaning ppl in general don't even have a basic understanding of economics. & to be honest, the one great source to critique of capitalism, Marx, most liberals haven't even read him becuz they are too busy reading bullshit feel-good-liberalism books by Naomi Klein. & i'd dare say that most "liberals" don't even know who Keynes is, let alone have actually read General Theory... or John Kenneth Galbraith or any other number of really great liberal economists. its really sad. & a detriment to many liberal arguements & it cheapens the discourse IMO.
