It's a classic player. Got it in a trade. The short scale just feels so much better in my hands and the tone range is perfect for what I need especially with the switches

Yeah, I hear ya. Buying secondhand pedals is a great way to buy-to-try, because they typically hold their used-market value.
In the best case scenario, the price spikes due to buzz and demand and you get some tangible return on the investment in yourself.

I've flipped numerous pedals that didn't mesh with my rig or taste for whatever reason, with the sale price being approx +/- $10-20, coming out slightly ahead more often than not.
Losses do occur but they are modest, and the knowledge and wisdom that comes with the experience is among the highest bang-for-the-buck $20 lessons I can think of.
It's almost like pedal rental...with no late fees

After owning the CD for many years, I finally got my hands on the vinyl of Slint - Spiderland

+1 on buying second hand, since I started doing that I've rarely made any considerable losses
also, Spiderland was the first vinyl I ever bought incredible album!
