Started watching the Sonic Highways DVD even though I'm not a big Foo Fighters fan. In fact, I couldn't care less about them. Or couldn't. Until now because I find the DVDs super interesting.
I feel like these songs sometimes shift and take on new identities that are sometimes strange. Like the weird funky keyboard licks. Don't get it.
But Rick Nielsen plays an EGC Baritone towards the end which is cool as hell. And this song was recorded in Albini's studio so fuck it.
I really love his singer/songwriter period too. love his new album btw too. you should check out Loose Fur if you havn't already. Its Jim with couple guys from Wilco...can't think of their names haha. Glenn..and Jeff Tweedy. Jeff and Jim trade turns at the vocals and I'm pretty sure they do the whole John/Paul thing where the singer wrote the lyrics/song. Great stuff, think they only put out two albums that I'm aware of. You'll probably dig it.
