I think I could scoop a lot of this gear up and ship it to australia via shipping container?
Does anyone have any experience doing this?

You are going to pay a fortune. Say you have one guy you are shipping to whose going to arrange the shipping container cause the container place doesn't take a hold one for you and then slowly load it. You have to get everything in it in one day and then they ship it off the next. the cost for the container is between 3-6k depending on the size. Only reason I know about that is the people I work for has a daughter that moved to Australia and they paid to ship over her furniture and other shit. they had 4 containers and it was a little over 20grand.

So if you have that sort of scratch laying around to basically slowly pick off these auctions and pay for those items... pay for someone to receive them and hold them and then finally when you have a full container... cause even if you half fill it the cost is the same cause the container doesn't shrink so you might as well fill it to the brim. So you are looking at something like a $50,000 investment at a bare minimum and that's with lucky finds and auctions. Then you get to wait I think around a month for it to get to you via ship. If you planning on getting the gear and then selling it off once you get it you better have that scratch all up front to make that money on the back end.

im pretty sure people sell space in their containers
i know next to nothing about this
would require some research
but i did send some stuff to guyana once
and you basically buy square footage
or cubic footage or whatever
it would take alot of cabs to fill a shipping container

There's a possibility but that's probably even more overpriced. You know no one is going to offer up that for anything less than what they are paying overall. It's basically one of those things that isn't worth your time if you are a normal person with a normal income. You'll go broke before you even get it half way done.
